Scholarship Grants

The Scholarship Program seeks to provide in-depth educational assistance to very poor children amongst those enlisted in our programs.

Tiwala believes that in order for a poor child to succeed in school, he/she must receive not just financial help but also parental support and supplemental instruction. Therefore, Tiwala’s scholarship program not only facilitates children’s education by shouldering school fees, but it also offers after-school tutorials to further supplement the education of the sponsored child. Furthermore, the parents of the scholars are enlisted in Tiwala’s Family Strengthening so that they can be equipped with effective principles on raising their kids as well as understand their role in their child’s success in school. Tiwala’s staff members conduct home and school visits to monitor the progress of the scholars.

The monthly cost of sending one child to school is Php 1000.00 (£15.00 or $25.00). This cost covers:

• school fees
• school uniforms
• school supplies
• birthday gift and incentives
• after-school tutorial
• school projects
• year-end educational tour/outing
